Now is a good time to go Vegan

In an on-line article for the Independent Robert Boston makes the point that now is as good a time as any to go vegan. Due to the fact that three in four of the world’s leading infectious dieses come from animals.

He asserts that “Across the globe, animals are kept in horrific conditions in factory farms and wildlife markets. These settings provide a fertile environment for the transmission of viruses between different species and humans.”

Joaquin Saves Indigo and Liberty

On a lighter note Vegan Activist and Actor Joaquin Phoenix showed his virtue once again when he announced that he would be supporting a drive to adopt an animal for mother’s day. He exchanged the release of two animals named Indigo and Liberty.

Yes that’s right he named the calf and its mother in an extremely woVegNews.JoaquinPhoenixCalfke and dope move. Phoenix was heard to say “Although we cannot rescue our way out of animal agriculture, I hope you will always know Liberty and Indigo as living embodiments of liberation and as ambassadors for a compassionate vegan lifestyle.”

The reason behind why people are going Vegan

In an article one the BBC website Lora Jones discovered why people are going vegan. According to a poll conducted on more than one thousand participants in Great Britain by Mintel.

Just under half of those that wanted to cut down on meat products cited health reasons for their motive. Animal welfare and weight management were also given as significant factors.

Distinguishing Vegan From VegetarianAmy Chamberlain - Executive Relationship Manager - Ultimate ...

Lisa Dryer in a recent article for CNN spoke to Amy Chamberlan a dietician who explained that a vegan diet is stricter than a “flexitarian” diet. It’s entirely plant based, as in no animal products whatsoever.

She differentiates Vegan from vegetarian which permits for dairy eggs and honey. Many people, particularly food bloggers, might use the expressions “plant-based” and “vegan” interchangeably, plant-based is an “umbrella term” and does not represent being vegan. Whereas all vegans are plant-based, not all plant-based eaters are necessarily vegan.

“Plant-based eaters may have a small portion of cheese or other animal protein.”

Rogan “most Vegans go Back”

Joe Rogan understood the majority vegans return to consuming meat for the reason of health issues. Joe an avid hunter himself continued to assert that people are natural omnivores, and said it is a ‘hard road’ living off plants alone.

“And if you don’t want to kill animals, please, eat eggs, eat oysters, eat shrimp and lobsters, they’re f*cking heartless, soulless little monsters that live at the bottom of the ocean. But if you want to be healthy, just eating only vegetables is a f*cking hard road. It’s a hard road.”
